DIY Jig for your Laser Cutter with Custom Arduino Automation
Repetitive tasks are time thieves, and in the case of setting up machinery for a job, every change of workpiece can potentially bring the setup out of calibration.
Clem needs to laser engrave multiple pieces in series and instead of reloading after every engraving cycle he automates the workpiece changing to process 4 workpieces at once.
Utilizing the trusty arduino uno , tmc stepper drivers for smooth and precise movement Clem shows you how in principle you can automate every tedious process!

DIY Hot Plate for SMD Soldering Using Raspberry Pi Pico
Просмотров 7 тыс.Месяц назад
When you think of soldering, the first things that come to mind may be a soldering iron or a hot air gun for reflowing SMD components. Join Milos as he explores another method: using a hot plate! A hot plate can be bought cheaply. It's great for soldering with a PCB stencil or unsoldering an IC with many pins. This project shows how to create a DIY hot plate for soldering PCBs using a Raspberry...

In Episode 600 becon_dave on the community site commented that along with the cuckoo clock, a miniature 3D diorama scene could be added (like a traditional cuckoo clock), and suggested that a edge-lit multi-layered laser engraved scene could be used. So, in this episode of Element14 Presents, Katie introduces us to her latest project: creating an acrylic edge-lit clock. The inspiration stemmed ...

Design for Manufacturing - Project to Product by Modifying Off-the-Shelf Cases

When your project gets popular you might want to sell kits! Clem was asked to make a kit of his universal debugging screen and quickly realized how time consuming it would be to 3d print and assemble the project's parts! So instead of utilizing fully custom 3d prints he adopts a technique used in mass manufacturing! Clem redesigns his project to use an industrially made enclosure and modifies i...

Join James as he aims to create a Wi-Fi LED Detector using Nordic's nRF7002 Design Kit (DK), enabling appliances like James's lab dehumidifier to send internet notifications for maintenance. James’ initial challenges with custom PCBs led to a shift back to the DK board, successfully detecting the dehumidifier's status and assessing energy consumption. Despite the setbacks James experienced, the...
Giant Retro Gaming Magic Mirror with a Raspberry Pi 5!

Dave has long liked the idea of a Magic Mirror, but always wanted them to be a little more interactive. He also wanted to be able to to make the size a little bigger, like a full length mirror should be - maybe that would make it more accepting to other members of my house hold? David merges the concepts of a magic mirror and a retro arcade machine into a single, impressive 65-inch touch screen...

      Both happens. With this one, it was part of a larger campaign on the element14 Community. I wanted to do the topic but I don't remember how the sponsor was picked. Sometimes, a sponsor approaches them, and then I come up with a topic based on what they want to feature.

    Very cool! Is that the JCM port? You know, I've maybe helped a tiny it with that :P I also have planned to play around with the ESP32 S3 more, for example I think it should be relatively simple to write a driver for the LCD driver in the ESP32 S3, which can basically output a VGA signal. In fact, you can probably skip any secondary MCU like the Pico, because the Linux port actually only uses a single core, and you still run FreeRTOS in parallel on the other one, which you can use for real-time tasks(and is also required for Wifi to work, since there is no Linux driver for that).

    Cool. I'll have to try making it myself using a bare ATmega (currently that's all I have on my desk). There 's a little question, does controlling the SSR not need to synchronize with the phase angle of the AC line? No need for zerocross reading?

    So civilization ends, and all that's left are these cases containing computers with USB sticks with back ups of the Wiki, thus all future generations will be educated with half baked information written by the children of Idiocracy, as opposed to factual information from much older books from a pre-digital era, like 100 years and older. That's where it's at!

    I always viewed transmitters as giant lamps and the RF is the light and as long as a radio can see the light it can pick up the station. I know it’s not super accurate to see it that way and much more complicated than that but it simplified it for me so it kinda helped

    You don't need the Arduino or the stepper. Use an ordinary geared DC motor, and add 4 bumps to the turntable. These bumps hit a microswitch that is wired to the motor, and at that point it turns the motor off. Wire your button across the switch, pressing it shorts the microswitch and the motor starts, once clear of the bump the microswitch closes so the motor will continue to run until it hits the next bump. Simple.

    • @MAYERMAKES
      @MAYERMAKES 10 дней назад

      Rhats one, but not flexible way. As i showed in the vode you can easily adapt the code to use a different divider. So 4 6 8....pieces. how many you csn fit on the mechanism. Bmwith thexset button you csn move the zero position exsctly to set it up. Which mesns the zero position does not have to be hardcoded . The solution you described would work but would need a rebuild when the positions change. The flexibility would be lost.

    • @j.f.christ8421
      @j.f.christ8421 9 дней назад

      @@MAYERMAKES What? No. The stops for the microswitch go on the divider, which you need to make anyway for different parts. The zero position is whatever stop you start on. Here's an idea for a video, take something that's unnecessarily complicated and simplify it - that's engineering. (Never mind that as pointed out by another commenter laying the parts onto a flat plate is what everyone does because that's far simpler than a rotating things, or even a feeder. A feeder would be a better choice for business cards, and not that more complicated than what you made.)
